a few days after the first snowfall, our class gathered to learn about the anatomy of a chainsaw.
so, we opened these chainsaws, and checked the parts and how those parts are interconnected to each other. we also learned how to sharpen the blades and how to place them back to the bar.
after we spent time getting to know the basics of a chainsaw, we went to the other building to check on our gears. one has to put on a helmet with visor, ear-protector, protective material clothing, safety gloves, safety trousers and steel toecap boots.
our group went to the forest to practice cutting a tree. we practiced on logs until we get the hang of using a chainsaw. it was quite easy once you get the feel of it. however, for me, starting the machine with the pull handle was difficult. it needs a lot of force and patience, because i needed to do it over and over again without any success and i ended up asking Aki to start the machine for me.
